Akhanda 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 blockbuster starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has been postponed just hours before its scheduled release on December 5. The film's release was abruptly halted due to a court case involving the production house, 14 Reels Entertainment, and Eros International Media Limited. According to reports, Eros had filed an appeal in the Madras High Court seeking an injunction against the release of Akhanda 2. The court granted the order, citing Eros' long-standing arbitral award against 14 Reels Entertainment, which amounts to approximately ₹28 crore. Eros claimed that the production house was attempting to avoid compliance with the award by releasing the film. In a statement, 14 Reels Entertainment expressed regret over the delay, citing 'unavoidable circumstances.' The production house assured fans that they are working to resolve the matter at the earliest and promised to share a positive update soon. Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Srinu, features Balakrishna alongside Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinishetty, and Harshaali Malhotra. The film's soundtrack, composed by Thaman S, received a positive response from fans. Despite the postponement, the makers have yet to announce a new release date.
