Director Priyadarshan has revealed that actor Akshay Kumar is his top choice for comedy films. Speaking with news agency ANI, Priyadarshan said that he decides the actor after writing the script, and Akshay Kumar is his go-to choice for humour due to their comfort level working together.
Priyadarshan also reflected on the making of Bhool Bhulaiya, which was originally supposed to be a psychological thriller rather than a horror comedy. He explained that he likes situational humour and tried to incorporate it into the film to make it more enjoyable for the audience.
Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar have collaborated on several films in the past, including Bhagam Bhag, Hera Pheri, and Garam Masala. They are set to work together again in the upcoming horror comedy film Bhooth Bangla, which will release in theatres on April 10.
Priyadarshan's next film, Haiwan, will star Akshay alongside Saif Ali Khan, Saiyami Kher, and Shriya Pilgaonkar. The director is also working on his 100th film with Mohanlal, and Akshay has several other projects in the pipeline, including Welcome to the Jungle and Hera Pheri 3.
