After facing backlash for allegedly ignoring the family of a Pushpa 2 stampede victim, Allu Arjun's team has released a statement denying the claims. According to the team, the actor has already provided financial assistance of ₹3.20 crore to the family, including a ₹1.5 crore fixed deposit to ensure a monthly income of ₹75,000 for their living expenses and medical bills. In a video released to the press, Dil Raju, chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, explained the breakdown of the funds. He stated that Allu Arjun contributed ₹2 crore, which was deposited in a fixed deposit to provide a monthly payout to the family. Additional funds of up to ₹70 lakh were also paid for medical support and to secure the future of the injured boy, Sritej. Bhaskar, Sritej's father, also appeared in the video, stating that while Allu Arjun and his family have been supportive since the incident, he now requires additional support for Sritej's rehabilitation. Dil Raju assured Bhaskar that the actor would cover all medical expenses for at least six months, and possibly up to a year, if required. The incident occurred on December 4, 2024, when a stampede broke out at a theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Arjun and several members of his team were arrested in connection with the incident, but are now out on bail. Despite the controversy, Allu Arjun and his team have maintained that they have been providing ongoing support to the family of the injured boy.
