The incident occurred when organisers paused proceedings to felicitate celebrities in attendance. As Tiger Shroff was called on stage, loud boos echoed through parts of the stadium, and the reaction was repeated when Ajay Devgn was invited for his felicitation. The crowd's impatience was evident, as many spectators had gathered specifically to see the football superstar. Messi's visit to Mumbai was part of his GOAT India tour, which kicked off with a packed stadium eager for his presence. The 38-year-old legend interacted with the crowd, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and shared a memorable moment with Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar presented Messi with his iconic No. 10 ODI jersey, and Messi reciprocated by gifting Tendulkar a World Cup ball. This incident marks a contrast to the Hyderabad leg of the tour, which proceeded smoothly due to better crowd control. The tour has already visited Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, with the final stop scheduled for Delhi on Monday, December 15.
