Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly is holding onto hope after the Delhi High Court directed the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate communication with her brother, Maj. (Rtd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the UAE for over a year. Vikrant, an Indian Army official, was allegedly detained in September 2024 due to national security concerns. Celina expressed her gratitude to the court and the government for acknowledging her family's contributions to the Indian armed forces. The court's order comes after Celina's petition seeking access to and legal representation for her brother was heard. While the Ministry of External Affairs has appointed a nodal officer to coordinate with Celina, she has yet to speak to her brother, who has been detained for 15 months. The next court date is set for December 23. Celina has requested that the media contact her leading counsel, Mr. Raghav Kacker, for further information. Vikrant has been residing in the UAE since 2016 and was employed with the MATITI Group, which provides trading, consultancy, and risk management services.
