Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal's highly-anticipated wedding has been called off. The couple had initially postponed their nuptials on November 24 due to Smriti's father's sudden hospitalization. Following the postponement, Palash was also hospitalized a day later. Amidst the chaos, speculations and rumors began circulating that Palash had cheated on Smriti. To clarify the situation, both Palash and Smriti shared separate statements on their Instagram Stories, confirming the cancellation of their wedding. As a result, they have unfollowed each other on the social media platform. Palash still has a heartwarming video of their proposal, which took place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the same venue where Team India lifted the Women's World Cup 2025 trophy. However, Smriti has deleted all wedding-related content, including their proposal video. In their statements, Palash expressed his difficulty in dealing with baseless rumors and urged people to be cautious before judging others. He emphasized the importance of respecting individuals' personal space and not spreading unverified gossip. Smriti, on the other hand, requested everyone to respect her family's privacy and allow them to process and move on at their own pace. She emphasized her focus on representing India at the highest level and her commitment to continuing to play and win trophies for the country. The couple's wedding was initially postponed due to Smriti's father's health issues. Palash's mother stated that the music composer is close to Smriti's father and decided to put the wedding on hold until he recovered.
