Ranveer Singh's latest outing, Dhurandhar, has made a stunning debut at the box office, shattering expectations and setting a new benchmark for the actor's career. The spy thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, has earned ₹27 crore net ( ₹32.40 crore gross) in India, surpassing predictions and defying trade experts' estimates of ₹18-20 crore. Positive word of mouth played a significant role in lifting the film beyond the ₹25 crore mark by the end of its first day. In international territories, Dhurandhar collected $850K, taking its worldwide collection to ₹40 crore on the first day. The film is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark by Sunday, if not sooner. This impressive opening has catapulted Dhurandhar to the top of Ranveer's career, surpassing Padmaavat's ₹37 crore opening day haul in 2018. It has also outperformed Saiyaara's ₹29.40 crore worldwide opening day, although it falls short of Chhaava's ₹47.40 crore debut. Dhurandhar is a gripping spy thriller set in Pakistan in the early 2000s, where Ranveer plays an Indian spy dismantling the gangs of Lyari. The film, based on true incidents, boasts an ensemble cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. With its impressive opening, Dhurandhar is poised to make a lasting impact on the box office charts.
