Sunil Pandey's romantic drama Ek Din opened to a lukewarm response at the box office, collecting ₹0.81 crore net in India on its first day. Starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, the film struggled to draw audiences and fell short of surpassing the opening figures of films such as Loveyapa and Love Story.
According to trade website Sacnilk, Ek Din had a 14% occupancy on its opening day. Junaid's theatrical debut Loveyapa had a ₹1.15 crore opening, while Sai's hit Telugu film Love Story collected ₹9.05 crore on its opening day.
The film, which marks Sai's debut in Bollywood and is Junaid's second theatrical release, is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. Initially scheduled for release in November 2025, it was pushed to May.
Aamir Khan, who produced the film, praised Sai's performance, saying she is the best actress in the country today. The film received a mixed review from Hindustan Times, calling it occasionally affecting but failing to hit the emotional crescendo it seems to be chasing.
