Hema Malini Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Dharmendra at Emotional Prayer Meet: 'He Was My True Life Partner'

Hema Malini and her daughters Esha and Ahana Deol organised a prayer meeting to honour the life of Hema's late husband Dharmendra on December 11. The event was attended by prominent figures like Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Kiren Rijiju. In an emotional speech, Hema Malini remembered her late husband, recalling the love and support he had given her throughout their lives. At the prayer meet, Hema stood alongside her daughters, who stood by her side as she spoke about the late actor. Hema said, 'I enacted love scenes with many actors in films, but Dharmendra became my true life partner. Our love was genuine, and we faced life's challenges together. He was a devoted husband and a pillar of strength who stood by me through every step.' Hema also praised Dharmendra's role as a father to her daughters and grandchildren, saying, 'He always supported my decisions and loved our daughters, Esha and Ahana, with immense affection. He played a crucial role in their lives, got them married, and showered love on our five grandchildren. He would often tell us to take care of this family and be mindful of its happiness.' Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, just days before his 90th birthday on December 8. He was hospitalised earlier in November before his demise. The veteran actor had a long and fulfilling career, with a first marriage to Prakash Kaur in 1954 and a second marriage to Hema in 1980.
