Bollywood actor Imran Khan has expressed his disinterest in playing hyper-masculine, violent protagonists in films. This comes amid the growing popularity of such roles in movies like Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In a recent Reddit AMA session, Imran spoke about the need to redefine masculinity and the harm caused by toxic masculinity in films and society.

Imran stated that he is disturbed by the trend of portraying violence and misogyny in films, and believes that true strength lies in emotional vulnerability. He also emphasized the importance of distinguishing between portraying violence and validating it.

Imran's comments have sparked online discussion, especially at a time when larger-than-life violent male leads continue to dominate mainstream cinema. His recent work includes Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, where he had a cameo after a ten-year hiatus.
