Actor Jim Sarbh has spoken out about how Indians underestimate their own films, with some believing that their movies wouldn't even be watched at international film festivals due to their 'song and dance' style. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Jim addressed this underestimation, stating that it's not just a matter of a foreign mindset, but also a reflection of Indians' own self-doubt.

Jim's comments come from his new web series, Made in India: A Titan Story, where he plays Titan founder Xerxes Desai. The show has been praised for its non-glorified look at how Titan came into being, and Jim believes that it's a testament to the diversity and richness of Indian storytelling.

Jim added that this underestimation stems from a notion that only one way of filmmaking is right, which is often seen as the Western way. However, he believes that diversity should be welcomed, recognised, and encouraged, and that Indian films have a unique value to offer.

Made in India: A Titan Story has been streaming on Amazon MX Player since June 3 and has earned praise for its narrative and performances. The show stars Naseeruddin Shah as JRD Tata, along with a large ensemble cast.
