Kapoor & Sons director Shakun Batra has opened up about the film's casting process, revealing that actors Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajat Kapoor were initially not the first choices.
Speaking with Variety India, Shakun revealed that he and his team were rejected by many actors before finally securing the cast for his 2016 family comedy drama film.
However, Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajat Kapoor agreed to be part of the film instantly, which Shakun described as 'unimaginable' at the time.
Kapoor & Sons, which also stars Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, and Alia Bhatt, went on to become a blockbuster at the box office and received critical acclaim.
Shakun has also directed other notable films, including Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Strangers In The Night, Searching for Sheela, and Gehraiyaan.
