Bollywood legend Madhuri Dixit has revealed the reasons behind her decision to leave her peaceful life in the US and return to India. In a candid conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, Madhuri shared that her parents' desire to return to India and her own career commitments were key factors. Madhuri, who was at the height of her career in the 90s, moved to the US with her husband, Dr Shriram Nene, after their marriage in 1999. The couple lived in the US for nearly a decade, during which time they had two sons, Arin and Ryan. However, as her parents grew older and her siblings remained in the US, Madhuri felt a strong pull to return to India. “My parents were living with me, and I didn’t want to leave them alone,” Madhuri said, explaining her decision. She also mentioned that her work in India was becoming increasingly difficult to manage due to the distance. Her husband, a cardiovascular surgeon, also wanted to make a difference in people’s lives by developing a system to promote wellness. The couple felt that returning to India was a calling, and everything seemed to fall into place. Madhuri, who has been missing India while living abroad, is now set to star in a new psychological thriller series, Mrs Deshpande, which releases on JioHotstar on December 19. The series tells the story of a serial killer who helps the police catch a copycat murderer. Madhuri's decision to return to India has been a fulfilling one, and she is excited to be a part of the country's vibrant film industry once again. Her story serves as a reminder that family ties and a sense of purpose can be powerful motivators for making life-changing decisions.
