Antoine Fuqua's Michael Jackson biopic, starring Jaafar Jackson, has managed to stay steady at the box office despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics. The film has collected ₹2.30 crore net in India on Wednesday, taking its domestic collection to ₹23.45 crore.

Despite facing competition from titles like Dhurandhar 2 and Bhooth Bangla, the film has held its ground. However, it has also faced criticism from Emmy-winning filmmaker Dan Reed, who directed Leaving Neverland, a documentary about Michael Jackson's alleged sexual abuse allegations.

Reed has slammed Michael, claiming it promotes a 'false narrative' and distorts the issue of Jackson's relationship with children. He also expressed concerns that the film portrays Jackson's engagement with children as entirely benign and motivated by philanthropy.

The film has crossed the $100 million mark in the US and has been accused of 'whitewashing' the late musician's image by many critics.
