Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh has been facing tough competition at the box office, collecting close to ₹60 crore in four days. The film, released on March 19, clashed with Dhurandhar: The Revenge in the Telugu states.
According to trade website Sacnilk, Ustaad Bhagat Singh collected ₹9.05 crore on its first Saturday, but saw a slight dip in collection on Day 4, earning ₹6.59 crore and taking its total to ₹59.39 crore.
The film still lags behind Pawan's earlier projects, including Hari Hara Veera Mallu and They Call Him OG. However, it has performed better than Dhurandhar: The Revenge in the Telugu states, where the latter reportedly collected ₹4.42 crore across 1,382 shows.
Director Harish Shankar reacted to the film's clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, stating that pan-India films should consider Dhurandhar as competition, but the two films belong to different genres.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh is an adaptation of Atlee and Vijay's 2016 film Theri, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and starring Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna in key roles.
