Govinda has long been notorious for his tardy nature, often running days late to film sets. However, ace filmmaker Priyadarshan had a condition for signing him for his comedy caper Bhaagam Bhaag: Govinda had to be on time.
Priyadarshan revealed that he told Govinda, 'I had heard all these things about you, so please don't do the film if you cannot come on time.' But to his surprise, Govinda was on time every day.
Govinda has previously been criticized for his tardiness, with multiple people sharing stories of how he would fail to turn up to sets on time. Even Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth were once made to wait for days for a shot during the filming of Hum.
However, Govinda has offered a candid explanation for his tardiness, saying that gossip circles and media outlets have exaggerated the issue, turning minor delays into headline news.
He emphasized that sometimes delays are outside his control, such as due to traffic, scheduling constraints, or waiting on other departments. He urged people to reflect before spreading rumours, stressing that respect should be mutual among coworkers in the film fraternity.
