Raja Shivaji Box Office: Riteish Deshmukh Film Sees Slight Growth on Sunday

The much-anticipated historical drama Raja Shivaji, starring Riteish Deshmukh, has managed to hold steady at the box office on Sunday and sustain its momentum, despite receiving mixed reviews.

The film, which hit theatres on May 1, opened to record-breaking numbers and set a new benchmark with the biggest opening ever for a Marathi film.

Raja Shivaji collected ₹12 crore on Sunday, a slight higher than the haul on Saturday, which stood at ₹10.55 crore. The film collected ₹11.35 crore on its opening day, bringing the total India gross collections to ₹40.34 crore and the total India net to ₹33.90 crore so far.

The film has been released in theatres in Hindi and Marathi, and has been performing well across its shows, collecting ₹3.52 crore from its Hindi shows and ₹6.91 crore from its Marathi shows.

Raja Shivaji also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi and Amole Gupte, and marks the acting debut of Riteish and Genelia's son, Rahyl.
