Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 Smashes Records with ₹240 Crore Opening

The Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar 2 has made a roaring success on its first day, breaking several records in the process. The film earned ₹145 crore net domestically and ₹240 crore gross worldwide, one of the highest in Indian cinema history.

The film broke the record for the highest worldwide opening for a Bollywood film, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan with a total of ₹240 crore. It also became the second-biggest opening for any Indian film, behind only Pushpa 2's ₹274-crore start.

In India, Dhurandhar 2 earned ₹145 crore, including ₹43 crore in paid previews, setting a new record for the highest domestic opening for a Bollywood film. The film also collected ₹43 crore net in India and ₹75 crore gross worldwide from its paid previews, setting a new Indian record for the highest collections from premieres.

The film's single-day collection of ₹102 crore net in India is the most any Bollywood film has earned in a single day, surpassing Jawan's previous record. Dhurandhar 2 also became the fastest entrant in the 100-crore club for a Hindi film, reaching the milestone on its opening day.

The film's success has also set a new benchmark for ticket sales, with 25 lakh tickets sold across India on various platforms and through spot booking. BookMyShow, India's largest online ticketing platform, reported 1.47 lakh tickets booked in just one hour, breaking the previous record set by Pushpa 2.
