Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has hailed Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge as a 'horror' for filmmakers who prioritized over-the-top cinema over intelligent storytelling.
RGV believes Dhurandhar 2 will 'scare the living hell' out of those who 'worship the godly hero', citing Ranveer Singh's character as a 'true hero' who is flawed and unpredictable.
He also took aim at filmmakers who rely on action set pieces that defy physics and gravity, calling them 'cheap, fake, and embarrassingly ridiculous'.
RGV sees Dhurandhar 2 as a 'verdict' that is burying the old way of making cinema, with its intelligent storytelling and realistic action.
The film has collected ₹145.55 crore net in India from its premieres and opening day collections, according to Sacnilk.
