Kareena Kapoor has dismissed rumors of a revival of the iconic RK Studios, founded by Raj Kapoor in 1948. The Kapoor family had earlier sold the original property to Godrej Properties for ₹180 crore in May 2019.

Addressing speculation, Kareena clarified that there are no plans to revive the studio at present. She suggested that the responsibility for any potential revival would lie with the younger generation, specifically her cousin Ranbir Kapoor and her sister Karisma Kapoor.

Kareena pointed out that Ranbir is currently focused on acting and that it's 'heartbreaking' but not happening. She expressed a desire for Ranbir and Karisma to consider reviving the studio in the future.

RK Studios holds a significant place in Hindi cinema history, backing landmark films such as Awaara, Shree 420, and Bobby. The studio enabled filmmakers to mount ambitious productions under one roof, but a fire in 2017 damaged parts of the property, leading to its eventual sale.
