Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 has sparked controversy over a scene that allegedly disrespected the Sikh community's sacred texts. An FIR has been filed at Mulund Police Station, citing R. Madhavan, Ranveer Singh, and director Aditya Dhar for their involvement in the allegedly offensive depiction.
Gurjyot Singh Keer, president of the Sikhs in Maharashtra organisation, has condemned the scene, stating that it shows a character smoking a cigarette and reciting a sacred verse from the Dasam Granth. He urged the Sikh community to stage peaceful protests and display black flags to the film's makers and lead actors if they fail to issue a sincere apology.
The controversy gained further attention after social media users circulated images and critiques of the film's poster and sequences. While the film continues to perform strongly at the box office, the makers have not yet issued an official response to the FIR or the objections raised by members of the Sikh community.
