Canada has issued a travel advisory for Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) due to expected protests and unrest in the region. The Canadian government has cited the arrests of several members of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) as a reason for the unrest.

Demonstrations are scheduled to start in Rawalakot on June 9 and move toward Muzaffarabad, with local authorities warning against all travel to the area from June 5 to June 20, 2026.

The Canadian government has also warned that it may not be able to provide consular assistance to Canadians in areas with serious security concerns, and has prohibited travel to over half of Pakistan, including areas near the border with Afghanistan, China, India, and Iran.

Additionally, the government has asked Canadians to avoid all non-essential travel to Karachi district due to a high threat of terrorism in the country.
