A US-born-Indian businessman, Neeraj Sharma, is among 17 naturalised Americans at risk of losing their US citizenship due to alleged fraudulent practices.
The US Department of Justice initiated denaturalisation proceedings against Sharma, who was found guilty of visa fraud related to actions between 2015 and 2017.
Sharma, the former CEO of Magnavision LLC, submitted 11 fraudulent H-1B visa applications that included forged executive signatures and falsified supporting documents.
He also falsely testified under oath when seeking US citizenship in 2017, claiming he had never committed an offense or provided false information to US government officials.
The Justice Department is pursuing the revocation of Sharma's citizenship, citing significant misrepresentations and concealment of illegal activities.
