Iran's mission in India has rejected US President Donald Trump's allegation regarding an Indian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the accusation 'simply baseless'.

The US president accused Iran of launching drone attacks on Indian ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz, calling the alleged action 'totally unacceptable', while Tehran dismissed the charge as 'baseless'.

Three vessels carrying Indian crew members came under attack off the coast of Oman this week, resulting in the deaths of three Indian seafarers on Wednesday.

The Iranian Embassy in India said in a social media post that the US president's accusation was an attempt to divert public attention from the brutal fact that the US has attacked 3 Indian vessels in less than a week and killed 3 innocent Indian sailors.
