Karmelo Anthony's girlfriend, Valeria Perez, has spoken out after her boyfriend was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Austin Metcalf. Perez expressed her support for Anthony in a TikTok post, calling him a 'sweet boy' and urging him to 'hold your head high.'
Anthony was transferred to the Wallace Pack Unit in Texas to serve his sentence, after being held in the Collin County Jail. His mother, Kala Hayes, also spoke out on social media, saying 'the fight is not over' and that it has 'just begun.'
Anthony has filed a notice of appeal following his conviction, and is currently preparing for his time behind bars. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 2025 murder of 17-year-old Metcalf, who was stabbed to death during a high school track meet.
