A Singapore-based family has been subjected to severe harassment from illegal loan sharks after their domestic helper allegedly leaked their personal details to unlicensed moneylenders.

The helper, who has since been repatriated, used the family's private information and workplace details to approach the moneylenders, leading to a barrage of spam calls, threatening texts, and even physical harassment.

The family has reported the security breach to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to protect future households and has warned potential employers to be cautious when hiring Filipino helpers.

The incident has also raised concerns about the helper's spending habits and debt accumulation, with the family revealing that she had incurred over $1.5K of debt in just five months.
