Technical issues have plagued the Pima County Sheriff's Department as they search for Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie's missing mother. The department recently experienced a statewide 911 network outage, but it was resolved within hours.
Despite the technical issues, the sheriff's department has not reported any interruption in the Nancy Guthrie case. Volunteers have been searching for Nancy in Mexico after an anonymous tip claimed her remains are in an area close to the border with Arizona.
The Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, explained that the prolonged investigation is due to the reliance on lab work and the need to follow scientific rules, even though DNA analysis is not an exact science.
