Dan Eggen, a longtime Washington Post reporter and editor, was found dead in his home in Washington on April 21 at the age of 61.
Eggen was a Pulitzer Prize winner and helped shape the Post's coverage of the White House, Congress, and Presidential politics during his time with the publication.
Several media professionals expressed condolences at the news of Eggen's passing, calling him 'one of the all-time greats' and 'a great editor and colleague.'
A cause of death has not yet been determined and will only become clear after an autopsy, but authorities have reportedly indicated that there is no suspicion of foul play.
Eggen was among hundreds of Post journalists laid off in February and was set to join NOTUS, a Washington news organization, before his death.
