St. Louis Journalist Ray Hartman Dies in I-64 Car Accident

Ray Hartman, 73, journalist and former St. Louis congressional candidate, died in a car crash on I-64 after a semi-truck wheel struck his vehicle.

Ray Hartman, a 73-year-old journalist and former Congressional candidate from St. Louis, Missouri, died in a car accident on Thursday, involving a semi-truck whose wheel came off and hit his car.

Hartman, the founder of The Riverfront Times, was driving on the I-64 near the west of 270 when the accident occurred. The truck driver involved in the accident is cooperating with the investigation.

Hartman was a well-known figure in the St. Louis area for hosting the KETC politics show 'Donnybrook' and was also a radio show host and TV panelist. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and had a journalism degree.

Hartman's family has not commented on the accident, but tributes have poured in from St. Louis residents who knew him. He is survived by his wife Kerri and two children, Benjamin and Brielle.
