President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC's Meet the Press host Kristen Welker after a heated exchange over his baseless allegations of election fraud.

The interview, recorded on June 5 in Wisconsin, was meant to address Trump's domestic and international policy topics, but escalated after Trump reiterated his unfounded claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged and that California's gubernatorial primary was "rigged."

Welker repeatedly pressed Trump to provide evidence supporting his allegations, but he refused, instead accusing her and the media of being "crooked."

Trump claimed that the U.S. is "like a third-world country" when it comes to administering elections and that the slow vote-counting procedure in California was evidence of cheating.

Welker responded that courts and election officials had not substantiated those claims, leading to a heated back-and-forth that ended with Trump walking out of the interview.
