US President Donald Trump's approval rate has declined to near record lows as voters express growing pessimism over high energy prices and the ongoing Iran war.
A recent survey conducted by Reuters and Ipsos found that only 35% of respondents approved of Trump's performance in the White House, near the lowest level of 34% in April and close to an all-time low of 33% in December 2017.
The Republican leader has faced mounting criticism over the Iran war and rising gasoline prices, with 70% of respondents disapproving of his handling of the cost of living.
Only 22% of respondents approved of Trump's handling of the cost of living, while 59% expect gas prices to worsen next year.
The survey is a major setback for Trump, with his predecessor Joe Biden having 29% approval on the cost of living and 63% disapproval.
