Well-known actor Dr Anil Kumar Rastogi responded to comments made by those who mocked an awkward greeting moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Padma awards ceremony on Tuesday.
The 80-year-old Padma Shri recipient clarified that the awkward moment was due to his age, stating that he has huge respect for the prime minister.
Dr Rastogi has been honored with Padma Shri for his immense contribution in theatre, cinema, radio, and television, and is also an accomplished scientist with over 78 co-authored research publications.
He was conferred the prestigious Padma awards along with several other eminent personalities, including Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj, actors Mammootty and Satish Shah, cricketer Rohit Sharma, and playback singer Alka Yagnik.
