A charge sheet has been filed in connection with the stampede that occurred during a screening of Allu Arjun's film Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad last December. The incident resulted in the death of 35-year-old M Revathi and left her nine-year-old son critically injured. The Hyderabad police have named 23 individuals, including the actor, as accused in the case. The charge sheet highlights lapses in planning, crowd management, and security arrangements at the Sandhya Theatre where the benefit show was held. According to the police investigation, the theatre's owner and management, along with Allu Arjun's security team and event organizers, failed to coordinate properly, leading to the tragic incident. The police commissioner stated that their probe has established the negligence of various individuals involved. The accused include Allu Arjun, the theatre owner, partners, and staff, as well as private security personnel and event organizers. While 14 individuals have been arrested, nine others who obtained anticipatory bail have been served notices. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, and released on December 14, 2024, after being granted interim bail by the Telangana high court. He was later granted regular bail. The Telangana government had also announced financial assistance to the family of the deceased woman. The case is ongoing, and further proceedings will continue as per law. The incident has raised concerns about crowd management and security arrangements at public events in the city.
