Rapper-singer Badshah has apologized to the National Commission for Women (NCW) over the Tateeree song controversy, promising a new song on women's empowerment within four months.

Badshah appeared before the commission, along with directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, and producer Hiten, and submitted unconditional written apologies.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar directed those concerned to ensure such incidents are not repeated in future, and Badshah pledged to work for women's upliftment and present a positive song on women's empowerment.

This comes after the Delhi High Court ordered the takedown of Badshah's song Volume 1 due to its derogatory lyrics towards women, and Haryana Police removed 857 links of Tateeree over objectionable lyrics and visuals.
