A disturbing incident has been reported in Bengaluru's Thyagarajanagar, where a 5-year-old boy was brutally kicked by a 35-year-old neighbour while playing outside his uncle's house. The boy's mother, Deepika Jain, had visited her brother's house on December 14 when the incident occurred. CCTV footage shows the accused, identified as Ranjan, walking towards the boy and kicking him to the ground without provocation. The boy fell and sustained injuries, including bleeding above the eyebrow and wounds on his hands and legs. According to the police, preliminary inquiry revealed that Ranjan is suffering from a mental health disorder and is receiving treatment. The boy's mother had registered a complaint against Ranjan under Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he was subsequently arrested. However, he was later released, as per a senior police officer. This incident is not the first time Ranjan has been involved in such an incident, with earlier CCTV footage showing him assaulting other children. The police are investigating the matter further, and the accused is currently out on bail.
