A gruesome murder has shaken a small village in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, where a 35-year-old man allegedly killed his younger brother over a long-standing dispute involving 10 bighas of land. The victim, Hansraj, was brutally assaulted by his brother Nakshtra Pal, who then buried his body in a pit dug inside their house to conceal evidence. According to police officials, the dispute over the land had been simmering for years, with Hansraj's mother having received the land from her maternal family. After her death, Nakshtra Pal allegedly transferred the entire property into his ownership, leading to frequent arguments and physical altercations with his younger brother. On the day of the murder, a heated argument broke out between the two brothers, approximately 500 meters away from their house. Hansraj was brutally assaulted, and it is suspected that he was killed on the same day. The eldest brother, Prithviraj, reported Hansraj's prolonged absence to the police, leading to a thorough investigation and the eventual recovery of the body from inside the house. Nakshtra Pal was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated by the police. A forensic team has collected evidence from the crime scene, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The police have confirmed that the property dispute is the primary reason behind the murder, highlighting the devastating consequences of unresolved family conflicts over land ownership.
