The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is working to reset its image among young people in India, following controversies over examination irregularities and a recent protest trend on social media.

A senior party leader said that the party wants to change the perception that it has not addressed the concerns of young people, which led to recent protests.

The party will also sharpen its outreach to the youth, who have been identified as one of the key groups along with women, farmers, and the poor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The leader emphasized that Gen Z is not just about protesters, but also includes those who are involved in nation-building and development.

The party is taking steps to blunt the anger against the government and prevent it from spilling across campuses, as it had in 2016.
