The owner of an illegal Delhi bed-and-breakfast, where a fire killed 21 people, was also arrested last year for allegedly helping Bangladeshis obtain Indian identity documents.
Deputy police commissioner Rohit Rajbir Singh said Lavkesh Bajaj knowingly allowed the Bangladeshis to use his address in Delhi's Chhatarpur Enclave to get passports and Aadhaar cards.
Bajaj was arrested in January 2025 after a case of cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy was registered against him.
He was taken into custody and interrogated, and a charge sheet was filed against him and the three Bangladeshis.
The fire at the B&B on Wednesday killed 21 people and injured 21, and an investigation found that Bajaj did not have a licence to run a restaurant.
