The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed Class 10 and 12 board examinations in several West Asian countries due to escalating tensions in the region.
The exams, originally scheduled for March 2, have been postponed for thousands of Indian students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across the Gulf region.
The decision affects students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where CBSE schools account for a significant share of overseas candidates appearing for the board examinations each year.
The CBSE will review the situation on Tuesday, March 3, and announce new dates for the examinations, which are scheduled to begin from March 5 onwards.
Over 4.37 million students, including 2.51 million Class 10 students and 1.86 million Class 12 students, are appearing for CBSE board examinations 2026.
