The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has appointed three spokespersons to lead the movement ahead of the June 6 protest. Saurav Das, an investigative journalist, will be the Chief Spokesperson, while Vijeta Dahiya, a political researcher and filmmaker, and Ashutosh Ranka, will also take on the role of Spokespersons.
The CJP aims to change the political discourse of India and has built its following on social media, mobilising student anger over examination irregularities and accountability failures in India's education sector.
The movement is demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities. An online petition has reportedly garnered over 800,000 signatures.
The government has replaced the CBSE chairman and secretary, and constituted a one-member inquiry committee into alleged irregularities in the board's on-screen marking system.
