Shashi Tharoor's recent visit to Kashmir has sparked a row within his party, the Congress, with the J&K unit criticizing him for not meeting party colleagues. Tharoor met with L-G Manoj Sinha and discussed the situation in J&K, describing it as 'normalcy'. However, the J&K Congress unit expressed disappointment, saying Tharoor could have spared time to meet his party colleagues and the people of Kashmir.
This is not the first time Tharoor has faced criticism from his party. He was recently slammed for his 'admiration' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on protecting Indian civilian sailors. Tharoor said he found it extraordinary that his statement was given a partisan twist, and he accused the Congress party of being interested in scoring political points rather than addressing the concern of Indians losing their lives in the US-Iran war.
