A violent clash broke out between two communities in the Bairagiwala village in Dehradun district in Uttarakhand, resulting in the death of one person and injuring three others.
While the police have attributed the incident to a water dispute, the family of the deceased has claimed that a money dispute was the reason behind the clash.
The dispute escalated into stone-pelting, arson, and retaliatory violence after a disagreement between two groups, according to ANI news agency.
A case has been registered against three accused and 25 unidentified individuals, with the village remaining on high alert.
Heavy security was deployed after an angry mob allegedly targeted the houses of the accused and set one on fire, with the residence of one of the accused being demolished in the presence of police and district administration officials.
