Delhi woke up to a thick blanket of fog on Saturday, leaving the city's air quality in a precarious state. The air quality index plummeted to 355, classified as 'very poor,' at 9 am, a significant drop from 332 at 4 pm the previous day. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Sunday, warning of moderate to dense fog that might severely impact visibility in the early hours. The IMD also forecasts that the city will remain under the influence of a western disturbance for the next few days, resulting in temperatures ranging from 7.6°C to 21-23°C. As Delhiites prepare for another foggy day, the Air Quality Early Warning System has predicted that the air quality will remain hazardous over the next week. The city's visibility also took a hit, dropping to 400m at Safdarjung before improving to 500m by 9 am, and remaining at 800m at Palam. With the fog and poor air quality set to continue, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe.
