Traffic in parts of east and southeast Delhi has been severely affected due to emergency repair work on a damaged Delhi Jal Board (DJB) pipeline near Ashram Chowk.
According to the Delhi Traffic police advisory, the Ring Road stretch between Maharani Bagh and Ashram will remain closed for the next three to four days.
Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes, including the Ashram Flyover, Barapullah Elevated Corridor, and Okhla Mandi Road, to avoid the affected areas.
A 34-year-old commuter reported that a two-km stretch took over two hours to cover, with an ambulance stuck and people walking due to the lack of police presence.
A senior police officer stated that more traffic personnel have been deployed around Ashram and DND to help commuters, but there was little clarity on why extra deployment wasn't done earlier.
