A Delhi court has dismissed the bail plea of Manisha Waghmare, a key accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.

The court observed that Waghmare and other accused individuals 'sabotaged' the examination process to satisfy their greed, eroding the trust of honest students.

Waghmare allegedly circulated the leaked paper in exchange for money from teachers and parents of NEET aspirants, providing them with a guess paper matching the NEET questions.

The court noted that Waghmare made efforts to destroy incriminating material before her arrest and that the paper leak caused a huge loss to the exchequer and eroded trust in the exam process.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opposed Waghmare's bail plea, characterising her as a 'conspirator' who obtained and distributed the leaked examination paper.

The CBI submitted bank transaction records corroborating the alleged financial trail and stated that Waghmare was part of a conspiracy involving a retired Chemistry teacher and other accused individuals.
