Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) chief Abhijeet Dipke has claimed that police are not answering his calls as he seeks permission to extend the protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

The protest, which began over alleged examination irregularities and repeated paper leaks, has been peaceful, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Abhijeet Dipke urged authorities to allow the sit-in to continue, saying "the only condition is that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign".

He expressed confidence that police would grant permission for the protest to continue, and even offered to be the first to court arrest if necessary.
