Partly clouded skies and light rain are forecast for this week in Delhi, but the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a maximum temperature of 44°C by the weekend.
The IMD forecasts very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, on Monday afternoon or evening, as well as on Saturday.
Despite the rain, the maximum temperature is expected to rise from Monday, reaching 42-44°C on Saturday, surpassing the IMD's normal maximum temperature for June 15-19 and June 20.
The city experienced high humidity on Sunday, ranging from 38% to 81%, leading to a high heat index, also known as the feels-like temperature.
The city's air quality worsened on Sunday, recording a 24-hour average AQI of 151, in the 'moderate' category.
