Delhi Traffic Alert: Putin Visit Causes Road Restrictions, Diversions on Friday

Delhiites, be prepared for a busy Friday as the city's traffic police has announced restrictions and diversions in major areas due to Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit. The advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police aims to facilitate smooth traffic regulation on December 5. As part of the advisory, commuters are advised to avoid areas such as ITO Chowk, BSZ Marg, Delhi Gate, JLN Marg, and Rajghat Crossing. To ensure smooth traffic flow, alternative routes have been suggested, including DDU Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Maulana Azad Road, K Kamraj Marg, Raisina Road, and Rafi Marg. The restrictions and diversions will be in place at various times of the day. From 10 am to 11:30 am, parking and halting will not be allowed on Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, MLNP, and Janpath Road. Vehicles found parked in these areas will be towed away. In the second phase, from 11 am to 12:30 pm, parking and halting will not be allowed on Janpath Road, R/A Windsor Place, Firoz Shah Road, R/A Mandi House, Sikandra Road, and W-Point. Similarly, from 3 pm to 5 pm, no vehicles will be allowed to halt or park on Janpath Road, Windsor Place, Firoz Shah Road, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, and Bhairon Marg. The traffic police has made special arrangements to ensure smooth traffic regulation on Friday. Commuters are advised to follow the traffic advisory and use the suggested alternative routes to avoid congestion. Putin's visit to India began on Thursday, and he is expected to attend a ceremonial reception hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at 11:00 am on Friday, followed by a visit to Rajghat at around 11:30 am.
