A 30-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband while cooking rotis for him in Delhi's Sangam Vihar area.
The accused husband, Shubham Rajput, has been identified and a murder case has been registered.
The victim, Kavita, had been facing domestic violence since the start of their marriage, but social stigma prevented her from leaving him.
Her family alleges that Shubham had a gambling problem, accumulated debts of ₹25-30 lakh, and was pressuring Kavita to sell off a land to repay the debt.
The couple had frequent disputes, and Shubham had allegedly been threatening Kavita for some time.
Kavita's family also accused Shubham of having multiple extramarital affairs, including with a woman living in the same locality.
