A 50-year-old dermatologist, Dr. Manish Gupta, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his domestic worker, Meena Haldar, in an upscale South Delhi area. The accused claimed that he wanted Haldar removed from her job due to her 'bad energy' affecting his son's studies.
According to the police, Gupta thrashed Haldar with a bat and stabbed her with a sharp object on the terrace of his apartment in Mount Kailash. The victim, who lived in the Prakash Mohalla area, had worked for the Gupta family for around 10-12 years.
Robin, Haldar's son, expressed shock and demanded answers, stating that his mother had always been punctual and hardworking. Over 50 domestic workers gathered outside the apartment to protest, but were not allowed to see the body.
